This page provides general safety reminders for outdoor cooking, heating, flame, and fuel-burning products. It does not replace the instructions and warnings supplied by the product manufacturer.

Read the manufacturer instructions first

Before assembly, fueling, ignition, cooking, heating, cleaning, transport, or storage, read and follow the product-specific manual, warnings, fuel requirements, clearance requirements, and maintenance guidance.

Ventilation and carbon monoxide

Combustion can produce carbon monoxide and other hazardous gases. Use fuel-burning products only in locations and conditions allowed by the manufacturer. Do not use a fuel-burning product in an enclosed or inadequately ventilated space unless the manufacturer expressly states that the product and setup are permitted for that use.

Fire and burn safety

Use equipment on a stable, appropriate, fire-safe surface and maintain required clearances from combustible materials. Keep children and pets away from hot surfaces, flames, fuel, and cooking areas. Allow products to cool as instructed before handling, cleaning, transport, or storage.

Fuel

Use only the fuel type, fuel container, connections, and operating procedure approved by the manufacturer for the specific product. Never improvise with an incompatible fuel source.

Local restrictions

Outdoor fires, open flames, grills, stoves, and heaters may be restricted during burn bans, wildfire conditions, at campsites, in parks, or by local rules. Check and follow the rules that apply where you intend to use the product.

Damaged equipment

Do not operate equipment that appears damaged, leaking, incomplete, improperly assembled, or otherwise unsafe. Refer to the manufacturer guidance and contact us if a newly delivered item appears damaged, defective, incomplete, or incorrect.
